We are proud to announce that Hydra has gone live! Phase 1 of the Hydra system developed for the SEA LIFE Group gone live and is now in use by some 250 users in the Aquariums around the world. Hydra is a document sharing and collaboration platform which offers staff to record, store, track and share valuable knowledge as well as an easy way to communicate ideas and issues 24 hours per day.
Working closely with Rob Wick, Regional Curator for UK and Ireland based at Weymouth SEA LIFE Park, over the last 6 months, the Hydra system has gone live and is now being used successfully. Rob believes that HYDRA is an enormous asset to the 47 SEA LIFE Centres across the world. “We are housing hundred of thousands of creatures, cared for by dedicated staff and the information we have to process is overwhelming. Hydra enables us to marshall all of that important knowledge into one system making it available globally in real time. It will be a one-stop shop for husbandary information, stock lists, support and resources like creature information and images, contacts and suppliers… Literally everything we need to manage the world’s biggest collection of marine life.”
SEA LIFE spokesman Rob Wick also adds “We are really pleased with the professional and methodical manner Freeway Projects has approached this substantial project. They have provided us on a cost effective, robust solution on time and to a world class standard – from design to implementation and support, we could not have asked for more.”
Our development team is currently working on Phase 2, with will be launched in the next few months.
